April 2025 marked a significant milestone for HBG as we were honored to be selected as the official partner accompanying ASEAN in a series of major events in Da Nang, fulfilling the following key roles:

Organizer – 32nd ASEAN-New Zealand Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM)

On April 9, in its role as the coordinator for ASEAN-New Zealand relations for the 2024–2027 term, Vietnam hosted the 32nd ASEAN-New Zealand Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM).

The Dialogue was co-chaired by Deputy Foreign Minister Đỗ Hùng Việt, Head of SOM ASEAN Vietnam, and Deputy Foreign Minister Grahame Morton, Head of SOM New Zealand. Attending the Dialogue were senior officials from ASEAN member states, Timor-Leste, and the ASEAN Deputy Secretary-General.

During the Dialogue, countries exchanged views on several international and regional issues of shared concern such as the South China Sea, the Korean Peninsula, and the Middle East.

Concluding the Dialogue, participants reaffirmed their commitment to continued close coordination and cooperation, jointly exchanging and proposing orientations for deeper collaboration, particularly in 2025, as ASEAN celebrates 10 years of the ASEAN Community and ASEAN-New Zealand marks the 50th anniversary of their partnership. Both sides agreed to align the development of major guiding documents such as the Joint Vision and the ASEAN-New Zealand Plan of Action for 2026–2030 with ASEAN’s long-term strategies and development goals.

Equipment Provider – “ASEAN Meet-up in Da Nang 2025” Conference

This event was co-hosted by Da Nang City, the ASEAN Department (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), and diplomatic missions of ASEAN countries in Vietnam. It was a special diplomatic initiative celebrating the 30th anniversary of Vietnam’s ASEAN membership (1995–2025) and in support of the 32nd ASEAN-New Zealand SOM and the 4th ASEAN-UK SOM, also held in Da Nang.

Taking place from April 9–11, the conference’s main agenda occurred on the afternoon of April 9, focusing on discussions to strengthen international cooperation, trade, investment, and tourism between Da Nang and ASEAN partners.

The event also featured several sideline activities, including:

• A Da Nang – ASEAN photo exhibition showcasing diplomatic ties
• An OCOP and Da Nang tourism product showcase
• ASEAN cultural performances
• Site visits to Ba Na Hills, Tien Sa Port, Lien Chieu Port, and the Hi-Tech Park
